"I'm tired of being tired"
Recently, there have been increasing numbers of people who complain about:
- continuous sense of fatigue;
- frequent viral and bacterial infections that turn into chronic;
- drowsiness after eating;

Each of us, probably, will find at least one of these signs, which are a manifestation of energy deficiency, which underlies burnout syndrome.
People have different attitudes to energy exhaustion and extreme fatigue:
- 80% disconnect from everything and rest, leaving things to complete recovery;
- 15% reach severe fatigue and only then can afford to relax;
- 5% are the real winners who will not back down, even completely exhausted. Such people often become champions, successful businessmen, industry leaders, but such “victories over themselves” lead to a severe form of burnout syndrome.
At the WHO European Conference, it was noted that negative work-related conditions are an important problem for about one third of the working countries of the European Union. According to statistics, “burnout syndrome” occurs at least once in a lifetime in 25% of people. In May 2019, occupational burnout syndrome was included in the World Health Organization's International Classification of Diseases. From January 1, 2022, an employee will officially be able to take a sick leave with a diagnosis of "burnout". Given the forecasts and the prevalence of the syndrome, this fact can seriously affect the work of companies.
Burnout is a syndrome recognized as a result of chronic stress that has not been successfully overcome. It is characterized by the following features:
a person feels chronically tired and exhausted even after a long rest;
there are signs of neurosis, dystonia, depression and apathy, reaching attacks of causeless anger and aggression;
reduced efficiency and performance until a complete loss of interest for work and life;
development of organs and systems “causeless” diseases.
People with 25-45 years of age are affected by chronic fatigue syndrome, whose activities are associated with regular communication with a large number of people, processing large amounts of information, making important decisions, a high level of responsibility and emotional and intellectual stress, the risk is increased when all these factors are combined with limited physical activity.
More often than others, burnout syndrome affects:
IT- specialists working in conditions of tight timing for 12-16 hours a day;
TOP managers of large companies;
operators of complex information systems;
people of intellectual labor, professions associated with empathy and compassion.
Emotional and physical burnout is more correctly called energy deficiency. The problem is that the body does not have enough energy for an increasing amount of activity. There is an imbalance between how energy is wasted and how it is replenished. The level of energy and strength are not enough, the body includes mechanisms of energy redistribution and energy optimization. First of all, the organs and systems necessary for life are provided - cardiovascular, respiratory, nervous, digestive, endocrine. And the "secondary" functions from a biological point of view - mental activity, sexual activity, emotions and feelings are turned off from priorities.
It must be understood that the social and biological energy distribution is different. Social energy distribution goes “from the head,” according to the priorities that a person has set for himself. Biological energy distribution is determined by the needs of life support systems. Burnout syndrome usually occurs on a contradiction: the body requires, but the person does not give.
The disease symptoms depend on the amount of available energy reserves and their optimization by the body. The figure shows the order of the biological energy distribution by priority and by age.
Energy costs for life support - the red part, this is an untouchable reserve. The cost of locomotor activity - the green part - can be used by other resources as necessary. Energy for the genital function - the yellow part - is the source of the reserve, which serves to enhance mental and sensory-emotional activity. Therefore, it suffers more often.
It becomes clear from here, why a burned-out person, at first, does not have the strength to move, then there is no energy for sex, then feelings and emotions begin to suffer. All this energy goes to mental activity. The burnout characteristic signs are developing: life does not bring a joy, relationships with relatives deteriorate, the results of hard work do not give a pleasure, a person goes into a deep depression.
If energy deficiency is aggravated, the organs and systems functions, cellular metabolism begin to suffer - energy begins to be scooped out of the “untouchable reserve”. As a result:
- immunity decreases, frequent viral infections, a tendency to a chronic course of diseases,
- bowel dysfunction: low digestibility of nutrients, vitamins, trace elements, irregular toilet, increase or sharp weight loss;
- the hormonal background decreases: impaired reproductive function, impotence, women menstrual irregularities, early menopause;
- the heart and blood vessels diseases: early strokes, heart attacks, arrhythmias, hypertension;

The VI macroblock is a power unit: energy generation, energy distribution, energy consumption, energy optimization, energy mobilization. This block is represented by all life-supporting systems of the cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive. The main role in energy distribution is played by the nervous and endocrine systems.
Interdisciplinary biology and medicine divide the human body according to the matrix principle into these six macroblocks. They are presented at all levels from the body to subcellular.
